Homeowner Eligibility Requirements Homeowner Selection Process Contact: Homeowner Relations (650) 568-7322 housinginterest @peninsulahabitat.org Home Homeowner Eligibility Requirements Although eligibility requirements can vary from city to city below are some basic eligibility requirements: Applicants must have a gross annual household income based on HUD guidelines. $40,000 to $50,900 for a family of 3 $40,000 to $56,550 for a family of 4 $40,000 to $61,050 for a family of 5 $40,000 to $65,600 for a family of 6 $40,000 to $70,100 for a family of 7 Applicants must have rented for the past 6-12 months depending on the city where Habitat houses are available. At least one adult applicant in your family must have legal permanent residency or citizenship in the United States at the time of the application. Applicants must have steady income, good credit and a minimal level of debt. Applicants and their family must be willing and able to perform 500 hours of "sweat equity."
