Corporate Programs
Corporate partners make a significant investment in their local communities through strategic partnerships with Peninsula Habitat, helping to create a tangible solution to the housing crisis.
Partnering with Peninsula Habitat is a win-win for both sides. According to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation,* there are four main reasons that a firm would engage in corporate philanthropy:
-
Direct impact: To promote social good.
-
Market reputation: To build the company's reputation and goodwill with customers and potential customers.
-
Recruitment & retention: To aid in recruiting and retaining employees.
-
Strategy: To improve the competitive context of the firm.
Peninsula Habitat provides an opportunity for local companies to meet their philanthropic goals in a unique and highly rewarding way. Companies are often drawn to the 'Habitat experience' not only because of the urgent need for affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also for the extraordinary hands-on opportunity it provides. Corporate giving, of course, is not just about the dollars, although funding is critical to sustaining our work. Corporate giving is also very much about community-building, among your own employees as well as within the greater community in which they live, work and prosper. Many employees appreciate the opportunity to "give back," and view volunteering as an essential component of giving back to the community.
Partnership Opportunities
Any corporation or business, regardless of the financial contribution level, is welcome and encouraged to partner with Peninsula Habitat. Whether you give your time or money - on a small or large scale - your company can help bridge the gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots' and build a legacy of affordable housing along the Peninsula. Partnerships range from a limited engagement and limited funding, to strategic alliances at the highest levels that help sustain critical programs and projects at Peninsula Habitat.
Corporate Signature Program
Peninsula Habitat is actively seeking partners in our new Corporate Signature Program. The Corporate Signature Program is a partnership program for corporations and businesses that give $5,000 or more and at least 80 hours of volunteerism to Peninsula Habitat for Humanity in one fiscal year. With their investment, Signature Partners build the foundation for a brighter future for families in need and transform communities, one home at a time. Members of the Corporate Signature Program take a leadership role in the community by making a vital charitable contribution to Peninsula Habitat for the construction of affordable housing, while simultaneously fostering hands-on community-building and revitalization.
-
Partner Benefits: Participating companies and employees can contribute in a variety of ways - receiving benefits and recognition from Peninsula Habitat that reflect the partner's participation level and preference. These benefits may include a partner listing in relevant Peninsula Habitat materials such as the annual report and website, recognition in our quarterly newsletter or press activities, speaking opportunities, banner placement or signage at special events.
-
Benefits to Peninsula Habitat: By making an annual financial pledge, corporate partners enable Peninsula Habitat to plan and budget more strategically, creating a dependable pipeline of funding and volunteerism for future growth.
Peninsula Habitat's Corporate Signature Program is open to any company, large or small. For those in the Real Estate, Legal, Biotechnology and Financial Services industries, Peninsula Habitat also provides specific Industry Campaigns to meet their needs as well.
Corporate Volunteering Opportunities
We welcome partner companies to roll up their sleeves and get to work at Peninsula Habitat, either in the office, at a special event (such as home dedications, ground-breakings, etc.), or on the construction site, where 90 percent of the labor needed to build a Habitat home is volunteered.
Typically this is part of a company or departmental "Team Building Day" with Peninsula Habitat, where your employees have the opportunity to work side-by-side with Habitat families, helping to support their dreams of owning a home. Team-building also fosters a closer working relationship among employees, who gain leadership skills, develop an ethic of service, and build loyalty to your firm or company as well.
Peninsula Habitat offers your company the option to "mix and match" the three team-building options featured below. You may choose to send a group of employees on one day or spread their participation out over several days. Our volunteer department works with you to design the team-building package that meets your objectives and gives employees a fun and worthwhile experience. To support the program, your financial contribution covers the cost of building materials used each day your company is on the construction site.
-
Option 1: $100 contribution per employee each time (35 employee maximum per day)
-
Option 2: Contribution determined by company (limited involvement)
-
Option 3: Corporate Signature Program (ongoing partnership opportunities)
Contribution Benefits
Financial contributions from team building are an excellent alternative for companies who do not meet the requirements of the Corporate Signature Program, but who still wish to partner with and contribute to Peninsula Habitat. They often contribute dollars from their team-building budgets that would have been used for events such as mini-golfing or happy hours otherwise. Employees feel a sense of camaraderie as they build relationships with their co-workers while working side-by-side on a Peninsula Habitat construction site. They also feel proud that their team-building dollars go to support something enduring: fighting poverty housing in the Bay Area. Whatever team-building option you choose, your financial contribution entitles you to the following benefits:
Membership Circle $1000 - $4999
Membership's Circle listing on Peninsula Habitat materials, including:
Peninsula Habitat website with company logo and link to company website
Annual report
Additional benefits, including:
Invitations to groundbreaking and house dedication ceremonies
Donors Circle $500-$999
Donor's Circle listing on Peninsula Habitat materials, including:
Annual Report
Upon meeting the 80 hour volunteerism requirement and financial contribution of $5,000 or more, your company will be entitled to further benefits as outlined under the Corporate Signature Program.
