Intuit
Software giant Intuit makes philanthropy and community volunteerism an essential part of its corporate psyche. The company encourages its employees to support their local communities through volunteerism and matches individual employee donations to local nonprofits up to $1,000 per year, per employee. Since 1996, more than 400 Intuit employees have given over 3,000 volunteer hours at Peninsula Habitat for Humanity construction sites, and Intuit has contributed over $45,000 to Peninsula Habitat through its employee-donation matching program.
Intuit Senior Marketing Manager, George Jaquette, has been a frequent volunteer at Peninsula Habitat construction sites for over 13 years. He encourages his coworkers to get involved because he sees a personal benefit for the time spent. "In this past year my company, Intuit, has sent over 60 volunteers to work on different projects at Peninsula Habitat, and it's really great for me to be able to introduce other people to a charity that I know and am very happy with," remarks George.
Intuit employees are currently volunteering at the Habitat Way construction site in Daly City, while others are assisting with office and administration volunteer jobs. "Intuit is one of our strongest corporate volunteer partners. We appreciate all the company does for us through its countless hours of volunteer time and generous cash donations," states Peninsula Habitat Executive Director Mary Boughton.
